About the Journal
Atma Reksa: Jurnal Pastoral dan Kateketik (Atma Reksa: Pastoral and Catechetical Journal) is a scholarly publication managed by the Atma Reksa Pastoral College (STIPAR) Ende. It serves as a bridge between academic theory and pastoral-catechetical practice within the context of Church ministry and community development in East Nusa Tenggara and Indonesia more broadly. The journal focuses on two core pillars: the pastoral field, which encompasses studies on congregational ministry strategies, spiritual accompaniment, Church leadership, and analysis of contemporary challenges; and the catechetical field, which emphasizes innovative methodologies for faith formation among children, adolescents, and adults to ensure religious messages remain relevant to evolving contexts. Beyond these primary focuses, Atma Reksa also welcomes multidisciplinary contributions, including pedagogical transformation, religious education management, curriculum development, explorations of inculturation—critical dialogue between Christian values and local wisdom (particularly Flores/Ende culture)—as well as studies in pastoral counseling.As part of its commitment to advancing knowledge, the journal publishes original, research-based articles that have not been previously disseminated in other media, employs a peer-review process to uphold academic standards, and strives to serve as a practical reference for catechists, religious educators, and Church activists in developing ministry approaches grounded in data, research, and local context. The editorial team accepts scientific contributions from researchers, academics, pastoral agents, and practitioners in the fields of Catholic Religious Education, pastoral ministry, catechetics, religion, and culture.
Full manuscripts must be written in either Indonesian or English, with abstracts and keywords provided in both languages. Manuscripts should be formatted in Cambria font, size 12 pt, and range approximately 5,000–7,000 words in length. All registration and submission processes are conducted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) of Atma Reksa Journal at https://journal.stipar-ende.ac.id/index.php/jar; authors are required to complete the registration form prior to submitting their manuscripts. Editors reserve the right to edit articles without altering their substantive content, and the responsibility for the manuscript's content rests entirely with the author(s). The outcomes of the peer-review process and publication decisions will be communicated to the author(s).
