Strategi Integratif Nilai Pendidikan Katolik dalam Menangkal Politik Identitas dan Primordialisme

Abstract: Identity politics and primordialism pose serious challenges to social cohesion in Indonesia, particularly before and after political contests. Catholic education plays a strategic role in mitigating the negative impacts of these phenomena through the internalization of evangelical values and universal humanism. This article aims to explore strategies for integrating Catholic values into the curriculum and school ecosystem to shape inclusive individuals. The method employed is library research with descriptive-qualitative analysis. The findings indicate that through a culture of dialogue, holistic character education, and the strengthening of the identity of being “Imago Dei,” Catholic educational institutions can serve as laboratories of peace that counter narrow fanaticism. These findings suggest that the latest Vatican document on the identity of Catholic schools provides an applicable framework for transforming religious identity into civic social capital. The practical implementation of the values of Catholic Social Teaching has proven effective in fostering students’ critical awareness against manipulative political narratives. Therefore, this study recommends the revitalization of character education in confessional schools as a pillar of democratic stability within a pluralistic society.
